This video demonstrates how serious the border violence in Mexico is. Even the state legislature says that "Texas went on alert for the first time..."

We'd better start taking care of this situation in our own cities and states and don't count on the feds.

The Feds are more concerned about political correctness and increasing their power base than national security or enforcing US immigration laws. As such the Feds are not part of the solution but part of the problem.

I've swapped emails with Senator Patrick and have spoken to him as well and if he tells you something, you can prettty much take it to the bank. I have an email from him talking about the violence along the Border and he said then, it was about two weeks ago, that Texas wasn't going to wait around for the Obama administration to decide what action it was going to take to protect Texas citizens and that there were plans in place for Texas to handle it.
I told him that it was to bad that plans to close the Border weren't put in place twenty years ago. Maybe if they had been , we wouldn't be in the position we are now, with the Federal Government turning a blind eye to what was going on along the Border with Mexico.
I'm glad Texas has a plan and I hope they put it into action immediately, because the new Head of Homeland Security that Obama chose. Napolitano, has said that there aren't any problems with the border, which fits right in with her view when she was the Governor of Arizona, and reversed every law that the citizens passed against illegl aliens, and if she had her way, she would like to see Sheriff Joe thrown out of office because he doesn't walk the politically correct path and puts criminals in jail, regardless of their ethnicity.

This Texas state senator looks and sounds great!

Can this be true - a political leader from Texas who isn't a traitor, idiot on immigration issues?

I found out later that our PR consultant (who is a fellow Patriot) does work for this senator as well, plus what jamesabrt had to say encourages me about this guy!

What I want to know is, why would Texas, or any other state for that matter, continue to support a federal government that fails to defend them when a threat is imminent? The reason for “uniting” the states was to form a common bond centered on the defense of all that joined the new union. It would seem to me that before we go half way around the world to export our concepts and ideas, we should provide security for the states that fund these ideals.

This makes you rethink the entire federal government concept, complete with income tax. A majority of states are processing legislation redefining their tenth amendment guarantees. The federal government is imposing unconstitutional rules and restrictions on the states, dictating to them how to spend their own money internally, and bringing undue hardship in the process. All this while failing to provide the most basic of protection; border protection and security. In light of the fact that if Texas, or any other state, were to become an independent country, rather than ship their money off to Washington, they would more than likely become the recipient of the lucrative wealth of foreign aid now so generously afforded outside the US. It truly gives credence to the concept of seceding.

Senator Patrick is a true patriot. He has been raising the alarm about the border for some time.

I spent a couple days in 2002 down on the border in Hudspeth County, which is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Even then then there was extensive evidence of illegal crossings. We talked to some ranchers down there and there was a point on the border where 18 wheelers could drive across on to the ranch roads.

Our border is an open door and its time to close it.

Just to clarify, the states like OK, NH, etc are not "redefining", but"asserting" their 10th Amendment guarantees. The Constitution as it stands is still the best governing document in world history. If we would only stand up for adhering to it, there is no need for things like seceeding from the Union.

Sen. Dan Patrick is the real deal. You can listen to his radio show on KSEV 700AM Houston. Monday through Thursday 4:00pm to 6:00 pm.

Another show well worth ones time is Edd Hendy and Pat Gray same station M-F 6:00 am - 9:00 am. They are informed and involved with Texas and our nation.
