287(g) will take up to 600 years to fully implement! Turn the Scoundrels OUT!!

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano wants us to think they are getting serious about interior enforcement, and protection from criminal illegal alien foreign nationals with the announcement of 11 new agencies participating in the ICE 287(g) Delegation of Immigration Authority Program.

  • DHS needs to do better than average FIVE new 287(g) participating law enforcement agencies per year!

In the 13 years since 287(g) became law, the federal government has trained an average of 5 agencies per year. If you disregard the first 10 years, (1997-2005), and only look at the past 3 years, then the average goes up to about 22 per year. Even by that generous accounting, it will still take 136 YEARS to reach all 3,085 sheriffs offices.

Is the federal government serious about protecting Americans from criminal aliens? Of course not.

Is the federal government even doing a good job pretending to "protect us against invasion" as Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution guarantees? Of course not.

Even today, there is no tracking of illegal alien crime by the Justice Department. Why is that? Do they only care about the crimes citizens commit? Or... do they simply not want you to know how bad the problem is? According to a GAO study commissioned by Congressman Steve King, we are losing 25 Americans each day at the hands of illegal aliens. 25 per day, and yet the President, Congress, and DHS wants us to believe that they are "serious" about enforcing our immigration laws... so serious in fact, that they WILL fully-implement 287(g) sometime in the next 136-600 YEARS!

Prior to 1965, the United States had manageable immigration policies, and reasonable levels of legal immigration. The number of foreign citizens allowed to immigrate to the United States was around 250,000 per year. This was a manageable number that allowed assimilation.

"First, our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same.... Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset.... Contrary to the charges in some quarters, [the bill] will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia.... In the final analysis, the ethnic pattern of immigration under the proposed measure is not expected to change as sharply as the critics seem to think.... The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs."  - Senator Ted Kennedy, Feb. 10, 1965

Ted Kennedy evidently knew about as much about immigration as he knew about driving drunk on narrow bridges. He's been in denial of accepting any responsibility for either decision that costs at least one American her life, and millions more their jobs and/or lives since then. Teddy couldn't have been more wrong.

  • In 1986 we gave amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, and pretended to crack down on enforcement. The SAVE Program was passed, but never funded or enforced.
  • In 1996, we gave amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, and pretended to crack down with enforcement. The 287(g) Program was passed, but not funded or even emplemented until 2006 when Democrats came to the American people yet again asking for us to be kind-hearted and grant amnesty to still more millions of illegal alien foreign nationals, but first they had to pretend to get tough on enforcement in order to curry support and votes for another amnesty.
  • They pretended to get tough on border security by passing H.R. 6061, the Secure Fence Act of 2006, but never really funded it.

They played the same shell game, or dog-and-pony show, pretending to crack down with enforcement of our immigration laws in an effort to get Members of Congress and the American people to buy into yet ANOTHER amnesty in the form of S. 1348 and then two months later S. 1639. The FIRE Coalition was in D.C. fighting both of these betrayals, and witnessed over 90% of the calls coming in to Congress saying NO! Who exactly does your Senator or Congressman represent? You, or some special interest group?

When both amnesty bills were defeated in 2007, Democrats and some Republicans betrayed the trust of the American people, and allowed Senator Kay Bailey-Hutchinson to attach an amendment to the Omnibus Appropriations Bill that stripped funding from the Secure Fence Act. Even New York Congressman Peter King, the author of the Secure Fence Act voted "for" pulling the funding from his own bill when he voted for the Omnibus Appropriations Bill in December, 2007.

138 Congressmen and 19 Senators voted AGAINST the Secure Fence Act. Many of these same scoundrels and scalawags are still in office; they are the same crooks that voted for a TRILLION dollar stimulus bill without reading it; they are the same crooks who just voted for the largest tax increase in world history, the Cap-N-Steal bill that passed the House, and awaits the Senate to finish kicking you while you are down. They are the same scoundrels who to put radio-frecuency-I.D. tags in your driver's license and license plate. Give up a little liberty for a little security? I think NOT. The Founding Fathers warned us against that ruse as well.

Only tyrants and dictators need to know where you are at all times in your own country. They are using their intentional refusal to enforce the laws and uphold the Constitution as an excuse to further control "We the People." Read Senate Bill 1261, the PASS Act, and ask yourself why you should give up your privacy because the feds refuse to secure our borders and ports of entry?

"Attrition through enforcement" needs a chance to work before we even begin to consider opening our hearts and wallets to more illegal alien foreign nationals.

Hide and watch. Pro-illegal pundits will point at the 11 new 287(g) agencies as proof that the federal government is giving due diligence to enforcement. They will try to use that as a carrot to entice kind-hearted Americans to give another amnesty because "we are cracking down on criminal illegal aliens, and those that employ them."

Come talk to me about amnesty in 600 years... AFTER we have full enforcement of our immigration laws.

Perhaps what we need is COMPREHENSIVE CONGRESSIONAL REPLACEMENT. No Amnesty! No pathway to citizenship for illegal alien foreign nationals! Don't wait till 2010 to start finding replacements for the traitors you have in Congress that keep betraying their oath of office. Vote out ALL TRAITORS!
