Transcript of Speech to California Republican Assembly

by mrochek 6/11/2008 8:24:00 PM

On June 6th, 2006, I was invited to speak to the Temecula/Murrieta California Republican Assembly where I delivered a speech focused on educating and motivating attendees to action.  I've included the transcript of my speech below.

Jason Mrochek

Co-founder & Executive Director

FIRE Coalition

Good evening.

I’ve been invited here this evening to talk to you about the largest invasion in the history of the world…and it’s happening right under our noses and without a shot being fired--so far.

Many of you who get your news from sources other than the mainstream media know exactly what I’m talking about.  These networks will never fully connect the dots for you about how pervasive and dangerous the illegal alien invasion really is.  Nor will they ever really ask the hard questions of our politicians to force the solutions that are required to stop the single biggest threat this nation is facing today.

But first, let’s catch everyone up to speed on the magnitude of the problem.

I think it’s important, at this point, to cast aside any questions or doubts about agendas and motives.  I have brought with me tonight my two guiding documents.  First and foremost is the Holy Bible, the inspired word of God.  How many of you out there believe that this contains absolute truths and God’s commandments for us to live by?

For the rest of you, don’t worry, this won’t be a sermon, but if you are at all curious, I would encourage you to talk with me or Danny G., or Jason Z. or Tom R.

The second document is the Constitution of the United States.  How many of you believe that this is the supreme law of the land and cannot, and should not, be watered down without amendment, and should be interpreted with it’s original intent?

As for me, I strive to live my life by the first, and I swore an oath of service to support and defend the second one: an oath that does not expire.  I suspect many of you in this room swore that same oath when you entered the military.

Unfortunately today, our federal government is falling down on the job.  They are not upholding Article 4 Section 4 of the Constitution which calls for them to protect each state against invasion.

Yes, I said invasion.

The most conservative estimates on how many illegal aliens there are in this country say 12 million.  In my 4 years of research and experience, I believe the number is well over 30 million today, but let’s take the conservative approach.  The number 12 million has been touted by the main stream media each year since 2005.

Is there anyone in this room that believes no new illegal aliens have snuck across our border since then?

In the Fall of 2006, The House Committee on Homeland Security released a report called “A Line in the Sand: Confronting the Threat at the Southwest Border” (LIS).  I’ve brought two extra copies with me.  In this report, the government release staggering statistics that you will seldom hear from the main stream media:

"Federal law enforcement estimates that 10 percent to 30 percent of illegal aliens are actually apprehended and 10 percent to 20 percent of drugs are seized. Therefore, in 2005, as many as 10 to 4 million illegal aliens crossed into the United States; and as much as 2.2 to 1.1 million kilograms of cocaine and 11.6 to 5.8 million kilograms of marijuana entered the United States." (LIS pg. 3)

So in just one year, if we’re conservative, approximately 4 million illegal aliens invaded the United States.  If we’re to believe the media, the year that we had only 12 million illegal aliens in our country (2005), at least 4 million came here that year alone; let alone all the years prior and the three year since.  If we’re conservative, the number of illegal aliens in our country today is 24 million based on the governments own estimate based on interviews with federal law enforcement.  This doesn’t take into consideration the surge that occurred when President Bush announced his intention to grant amnesty.

So when enough illegal aliens are pouring across our border each week to fill an NFL stadium, I call that an invasion ladies and gentlemen.

Let’s talk about what comprises that 24 million or more illegal alien invaders, what they are doing here in our country, and what those activities are costing us.

"The data indicates that each year hundreds of illegal aliens from countries known to harbor terrorists or promote terrorism are routinely encountered and apprehended attempting to enter the U.S. illegally between Ports of Entry. Just  recently, U.S. intelligence officials report that seven Iraqis were found in Brownsville, Texas in June 2006.103 In August 2006, an Afghani man was found swimming across the Rio Grande River in Hidalgo, Texas;104 as recently as October 2006, seven Chinese were apprehended in the Rio Grande Valley area of Texas...Items have been found by law enforcement officials along the banks of the Rio Grande River and inland that indicate possible ties to a terrorist organization or member of military units of Mexico.106 A jacket with patches from countries where al Qa’ida is known to operate was found in Jim Hogg County, Texas by the Border Patrol. The patches on the jacket show an Arabic military badge with one depicting an airplane flying over a building and heading towards a tower, and another showing an image of a lion’s head with wings and a parachute emanating from the animal. The bottom of one patch read “martyr,” “way to eternal life” or “way to immortality.”" (LIS pg. 28)

"According to ICE testimony, on September 8, 2004, ICE agents arrested Neeran Zaia and Basima Sesi. The human smuggling organization headed by Zaia specialized in smuggling Iraqi, Jordanian, and Syrian Nationals and was responsible for the movement of more than 200 aliens throughout the investigation.109 The investigation was initiated when a confidential informant familiar with the organization reported ongoing smuggling activities by Zaia, who had been previously convicted of alien smuggling. Investigative efforts revealed that the aliens were smuggled from the Middle East to staging areas in Central and South America. Once in these staging areas, the conspirators would arrange to smuggle the aliens from these sites into the U.S. or its territories.110 Members of Hezbollah, the Lebanon-based terrorist organization, have already entered to the United States across our Southwest border. On March 1, 2005, Mahmoud Youssef Kourani pleaded guilty to providing material support to Hezbollah.111 Kourani is an illegal alien who had been smuggled across the U.S.-Mexico border after bribing a Mexican consular official in Beirut for a visa to travel to Mexico. Kourani and a Middle Eastern traveling partner then paid coyotes in Mexico to guide them into the United States. Kourani established residence among the Lebanese expatriate community in Dearborn, Michigan and began soliciting funds for Hezbollah terrorists back home in Lebanon. He is the brother of the Hezbollah chief of military operations in southern Lebanon.

In December 2002, Salim Boughader Mucharrafille, a café owner in Tijuana, Mexico, was arrested for illegally smuggling more than two hundred Lebanese llegally into the United States, including several believed to have terrorist ties to Hezbollah." (LIS pp. 29-30)

Does anyone in the room believe that the Border Patrol apprehends all of the “really” bad guys?

How about the next set of threats?  Those intent on reconquering the southwest, a movement known as “Reconquista”.  It is lead by many anti-American groups such as the National Council of The Race (referring to latinos), The Student Movement of Chicanos from Aztlan, (known as MEChA).  Aztlan refers to the mythical territory encompassing all or part of the southwestern 9 states.  To give you a flavor about their principles, MEChA’s motto is “"Por La Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada,” which translates to “For the Race, everything. For those outside the Race, nothing”

In case you need further convincing, I’ve brought a long a couple copies of their Constitution in which the preamble states:

"Chicano and Chicana students of Aztlan must take upon themselves the responsibilities to promote Chicanismo within the community, politicizing our Raza with an emphasis on indigenous consciousness to continue the struggle for the self-determination of the Chicano people for the purpose of liberating Aztlan.  The following structure will make every MEChista accountable to its chapter, every chapter accountable to it's central (where applicable), every central accountable to its region, every region accountable to its state (where applicable), and every state accountable to the national."

Would it alarm you to know that MEChA has set up clubs in many of the higher education institutions in the southwest?  They also have a militant arm known as the Brown Berets.  Let me quote from one of their recent press releases.

"Los Angeles, Alta California - May 1, 2008 -(ACN) "The Brown Berets de Aztlan have undertaken an active campaign to recruit more soldiers and form new chapters throughout Aztlan," said Chairman David Rico yesterday. "We will be having a series of presentations throughout the Southwest starting in San Diego on May 8, 2008," he added.

David Rico is one of the original founders of the Brown Berets in California and was one of the Brown Beret soldiers that seized and took over land in Barrio Logan in San Diego that later became, the now world famous, "Chicano Park".

In the first presentation in San Diego, David Rico and other Brown Berets will be speaking on what it takes to be a Brown Beret de Aztlan, what the organization believes in and on future plans. They will also be answering questions.

The first presentation is scheduled for May 8, 2008 from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at the Centro Cultural de La Raza located in Balboa Park at 2125 Park Blvd, San Diego.

After the recruitment campaign, the Brown Berets de Aztlan will be organizing caravans to the state of Arizona where our community is presently under siege by racists and other anti-immigrant elements. "

The next group of invaders are the run-of-the-mill criminals and gang members.  Here’s what our own government says about them:

"Many members of violent street gangs are actively involved in other crimes such as rape, robbery, and murder. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has found that approximately half of the apprehended gang members have violent criminal histories, with arrests and convictions for crimes such as robbery, assault, rape and murder.50 This figure includes only those whose criminal histories are known. Approximately 90 percent of U.S. MS-13 members are foreign-born illegal aliens and depend upon the Texas-Mexico border smuggling corridor to support their criminal operations.51 MS-13 members are involved in a variety of other types of criminal activity, including rape, murder, and extortion.52

The foreign nationals who belong to these gangs often ignore Federal immigration laws, regularly entering the United States illegally. They then travel to the nation’s interior cities to join with other gang members and participate in criminal activity. A Federal investigator told Committee staff of a recent interview he conducted with an MS-13 member who described the ease with which he had routinely traversed the Southwest border. The gang member decided to return to his native country of Guatemala to spend Christmas with his mother. To save his own money, he voluntarily turned himself into authorities and was flown home at U.S. Government expense under the expedited removal program, spent the holidays with his family, and returned by illegally crossing the Southwest border. The gang member boasted this process is so easy he has repeated it several times." (LIS pg. 16)

"The study concluded, when applied to ongoing illegal immigration at the borders, these estimates translate to 93 sex offenders and twelve erial sexual offenders coming across U.S. borders illegally per day. The 1,500 offenders in this study had a total of 5,999 victims. Each sex offender averaged four victims. This puts the estimate for victimization numbers around 960,000 for the 88 months examined in this study." (LIS pg. 25)

Other analysis performed by Congressman Steve King’s office cites FBI crime statistics and a Government Accountability Office report on incarcerated illegal aliens.  In this analysis, 25 Americans are killed each day by illegal aliens:  12 each day by 1st and 2nd degree murder and 13 each day by involuntary manslaughter and negligent homicide (drunk driving).

You’ll notice in the materials I’ve left on the tables includes a summary of this analysis.  It also includes victims’ posters from one of FIRE Coalition’s projects called Operation Body Count which draws much-needed attention to the American victims of the illegal alien invasion.

Think about this analogy:  imagine if each week a Boeing 767 aircraft full of American citizens crashed into the ocean off the coast of California, yet the FAA would not address the problem effectively. Would this tick you off?  What would you do about it?

Since 9/11 more Americans have died at the hands of illegal aliens than in every major conflict since the Vietnam war, including terrorist attacks.

25 Americans a day die at the hands of illegal aliens, and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE DEATHS IS PREVENTABLE.  And yet federal government led by men and women we elected, have not done what is necessary to fix the problem.

Then there is the rest of the population which the media tells us are of the “non-criminal” variety.  Let me be clear, the second an illegal alien steps foot in this country without authorization, he has broken the law.  The second time he does it, he’s a felon.

This variety of invaders supposedly comes here “to do the jobs that Americans won’t do” as President Bush puts it.

How many of you believe that illegal aliens are not working in construction, hospitality, fast food, or manufacturing?  Are these truly jobs Americans won’t do?

What the president really means is that illegal aliens come here to do jobs that the employers are not willing to pay more for, because they’ve been spoiled by decades of the illegal alien invasion ,and don’t think they should have to pay more.

It is as simple as this, when an employer hires an illegal alien, he pays less and we all pay more.  The money he avoids paying in taxes, workers comp and legitimate wages, we pay for at hospitals and through our state and property taxes because the illegal aliens cannot afford to (or won’t) pay for them.

And since the federal government is not willing to effectively enforce immigration law at the workplace, the FIRE Coalition has deployed two projects to address the magnet of jobs in America:  WeHireAliens.com and SendTheTaxman.com.

WeHireAliens.com is the largest database of public-accesible "alleged" illegal alien employers in the nation.  It has been compiled by average citizens like you observing and making reports based on reasonable suspicion.  Many of the reports are by current or former employees.  Currently there are over 4,000 employers listed from 49 states.

SendTheTaxman.com takes advantage of the most feared agency in the United States.  Think about this:  when all other state and federal agencies refused to go after Al Capone, what is the only agency that had the intestinal fortitude to do the job--and be successful at it?  That's right.  The IRS.  But did you know the IRS has a form called the 3949 which allows anyone to make a complaint about a taxpayer who is defrauding the government on their tax returns?  Visitors to SendTheTaxman.com can submit an online form with the necessary information and then either print out the form and send it in themselves or have the FIRE Coalition send them in batch.  You can also fill out a form 211 to request a reward to be paid on actionable information that leads to a conviction!

One of the arguments that you’ll hear from the open borders lobby (OBL)  is that without the illegal aliens, our economy would collapse.  Let me dispel that myth here and now:

In 2002, the Center For Immigration Studies, released a report that concluded that in federal costs alone, each illegal alien family caused a net drain on our budget of $2,700 or roughly $10 Billion dollars.  If we were to legalize them all and they could draw from ALL our federal programs, that cost would jump up to $7,700 per family or $29 Billion.  Keep in mind that was in 2002 assuming only about 3 million illegal alien families. Of course at the state and local level, we can tack on more net costs to our society.  Consider this:  in Los Angeles in recent years, 95% of outstanding murder warrants were for illegal aliens.

Where do you think police and federal agents will spend their time?  They better be concentrating on the greatest dangers to the public!

How about schooling costs?

Nationally, the costs to educate illegal aliens as of June of 2005 was $28.6 Billion.  In California that year it was $7.7 Billion not including programs like free meals and English as a Second Language courses.

The final blow comes from our health and welfare outlook.  From 1993 to 2004, 84 hospitals closed their Emergency Rooms in southern California because of their inability to pay for services.  The reason? A federally mandated program called EMTALA which requires hospitals to provide emergency services to anyone regardless of the ability to pay.

Quoting from the late Dr. Madeleine Cosman and her article Illegal Aliens and EMTALA:

“EMTALA requires each Emergency Room to treat anyone who enters with an “emergency” associated with cough, headache, hangnail, cardiac arrest, herniated lumbar disc, drug addiction, alcohol overdose, gunshot injury, automobile trauma, HIV-positive infection, mental problem, or personality disorder. Definition of emergency is flexible and vague enough to include almost any condition as requiring mandatory care. Any patient coming to a hospital emergency room requesting emergency care must be screened and treated until stabilized for discharge or stabilized for transfer whether or not insured, whether or not “documented,” and whether or not able to pay.

A woman in labor must remain to deliver her child. Babies born to Illegal Alien women are called Anchor Babies for once they are born, like anchors dropped to keep boats safely in harbor, they pull their Illegal Alien parents and siblings into lucrative residency. The babies instantly qualify as citizens for welfare benefits. They have caused volcanic eruptions in Medicaid costs and skyrocketing stipends under Supplemental Security Income and Disability Income.

What is seen is the strong-backed Illegal Alien who will come to the Emergency Room and cough, sweat, and bleed but is assumed basically healthy even though he and his Illegal Alien wife and kids never were examined for contagious diseases. By our glance and by our shrug we grant Illegal Aliens health passes. What is unseen is that many Illegal Aliens harbor within their bodies fatal diseases that long ago American medicine fought and vanquished. Now Illegal Aliens carry drug resistant strains of tuberculosis, malaria, leprosy, plague, polio, Dengue Fever, and Chagas Disease.

Now that we’ve clearly outlined the problems, let’s talk about solutions.

After all, does any one in here NOT want this invasion to end?

There are several elements to an effective solution:

The first part is Attrition Through Enforcement.  This means we must return to the days of enforcing our laws.  There can be no “catch-and-release”, all employers who hire illegal aliens must face still penalties, and not just the big ones.  Imagine the effect if ICE swooped down on small-time operations with only 2 to 11 employees, and their owners paid stiff penalties and possibly faced jail time.

Would any employer in the nation feel safe employing illegal aliens?

They have all had fair warning and they all have the necessary tools to avoid hiring the wrong employees.  This also means that ICE begins actively patrolling the interior of our country, and not just for the “criminal aliens” despite the oxymoronic phrase.  The same effect would happen when this strategy is employed along with the worksite crackdown.  A giant sucking sound would be hear from the interior of America, because trust me on this:  the virtually the whole nation is currently a border disaster area.

Am I suggesting a “deport them all” strategy? No, because I think there are more cost effective ways to do it.  But I also don’t buy into the notion that it’s impossible if we needed to do it.  Some of you may have heard of President Eisenhower’s strategy to rid the country of illegal aliens.  “Operation Wetback” deported 1.3 Million illegal aliens in only 4 months with just 700 border patrol agents.  Imagine what we could do today if we chose to with more than 10,000 agents and better technology and communications!

The second part of an effective solution is a Border Fence that works:  both pedestrian and vehicular barriers.  One of the great shams on the American people in the last couple of years was the Secure Fence Act which promised about 800 miles of fencing.  Very little of it was even completed before Congress pulled the funding for it.  Without an effective barrier, the illegal aliens, no matter how many times they are deported, will continue to come back.  It is a critical part of any solution.

Probably the most effective part of the right solution is to place U.S. military forces on the border with rules of engagement that allow them to use force if necessary to defend our border.  Since this is the largest invasion in the history of the world, let’s treat it like one and take defending our border seriously.  The president has already authorized troops on the border, but you may have heard in the last week or so that they are now being pulled away.  We have many troops abroad that could return to defend our homeland:  Korea and Germany come to mind as likely targets for redeployment.  It does no good to defend our nation only abroad when it has been established by our own government that our southern perimeter is wide open AND the enemy has been caught coming across!

Finally and in the meantime, until we elect representatives who will have the intestinal fortitude to truly represent our interests, we must engage our state and local leaders to do all they can.  There are tools we can employ right here in our own backyards that will help solve the problem.  A couple of examples are the Crime Free Housing initiative and the 287(g) program which Riverside County is a part of, though only in the jails.  One of our projects, Operation FIRE and ICE, seeks to assist ICE by educating local jurisdictions about the benefits of 287(g) and holding them accountable for using it effectively.

The Crime Free Housing initiative allows landlords to evict tenants without notice should they be found to have a criminal record.  I know there are landlords in Fallbrook, CA using this today.  Every landlord needs to be encouraged to use this because every illegal alien is a criminal.   If there is nowhere for them to work or sleep, they cannot get benefits, the United States will not look so rosy to them (it helps too, when gas is $5.00 per gallon!)

Part of ensuring that illegal alien invaders cannot get benefits is taking our fight to Sacramento.  I know that this is a tough battle.  I’d be willing to bet that our Republican Assembly members and State Senators in California feel helpless to help their constituents because they face a numerically superior, pro-open borders opponent in Sacramento.  Let me suggest this to all of you and them:  go on the offensive.  Their job (meaning our allies in Sacramento):  start choosing likely targets for replacement on the socialist side of the aisle.  Your job, find citizen patriots with no previous political experience to run against them.  Their job: help with fundraising.  Your job, use the power of numbers to canvas and walk precincts.  It’s going to take all of this to put a rookie in office, but that’s what has to be done.  We need average citizens who have had to live with the effects of the invasion every day to represent us.  I, for one, am done with the revolving door of career politicians.

The news politicians need to be for Principle over Party and Constitution over contributors.  Let me warn you, though, there are going to be obstacles to our success.  Mainly Complacency, Ignorance, and Fear.   Americans haven’t had to fight for something that is theirs by right for generations.  We’ve become complacent, and in the last 40 years our enemies have used that complacency to strengthen their strangle hold on our nation, politically and in the media, which leads me to ignorance.

The main stream media is not your friend.  I’m pretty sure none of you have heard any of the information I’ve presented to you from the major networks, certainly not all at one time.  This has allowed what I refer to as the lobster’s demise.  A lobster, when it’s cooked for a meal, is placed into a pot of boiling water.  The water heats up one degree at a time.  By the time the lobster’s dead, he doesn’t even know it because the change was so gradual.

Remind you of something?

Yes, the last 40 years have been just that for America, but by educating our friends, family, neighbors, and politicians with this information, we can remove the plausible deniability.

The final obstacle is fear.  We have become victims of PC paralysis.  Some of us may be aware of the problem but are afraid of being labeled a “racist” or “isolationist.”  Somehow, somewhere, someone decided that to be against the invasion of your country is racist.  I’ll be honest with you, I’m an equal opportunity deporter.  I don’t care where they come from, I want them sent back.

So as we near the 232nd birthday of our great nation, let’s remember the courage it took to get us here.  That courage is still being displayed today as we have brave men and women abroad fighting in defense of liberty.  Whether you agree with why they are doing it or not, they have answered the call.  Can we do no less?  If not, we are letting them down.  For me, I could not bear the thought of one of my classmates from West Point returning to ask “What have you let happen to my country while we were away”

As I’ve often said, you don’t have to wear a uniform to serve your country, so let’s focus on taking back the America we knew and still love.  We’re behind 40 years, but we still have superior numbers, so let us break out of PC paralysis and start right here, right now.

One last warning, this effort will take your time, your money, and your commitment, but the alternative is to see our nation slip away before our very eyes.

So in closing, I encourage you to get further educated and join our fight.  The best way to do that is to join our citizens network at FIRECoalition.com.  From our website you can get much more information than what I shared with you this evening.

Thank you and God Bless.

Washington Post interviews FIRE Coalition, but fails to print any of it. Why is that?

by PatriotWatchdog 6/7/2008 2:36:00 PM

Karin Brulliard, from the Washington Post posed the following questions (in black) to FIRE Coalition National Director Jeff Lewis for an article she was writing for the Washington Post.
Karin's questions were and are excellent questions, and the FIRE Coalition was happy to respond. The Washington Post article was published on June 8, 2008. The article, as published, can be found here:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/06/04/AR2008060404019.html

1) First, just for background's sake, what is the mission of the FIRE Coalition?
What policies does the coalition advocate?
What should be done about the illegal immigrants here now?

Jeff Lewis: The FIRE Coalition mission is primarily to educate "We the People" and the people we elect about their duties and responsibilities to halt and reverse the largest invasion in world history. The FIRE Coalition is "solution-oriented." We advocate the enforcement of our laws, and a reduction in immigration, both legal and illegal, to a level that looks out for the best interests of the American people, and the security and sovereignty of the United States as an independent and free nation. There is no such thing as an "illegal immigrant." An immigrant is a person that legally migrates to another country with the intention of assimilating into that nation, respecting their laws and culture, and who makes a concerted effort to learn their language. You cannot have dual-allegiance.

What should be done about the illegal aliens already here? The FIRE Coalition strongly advocates "attrition through enforcement." The United States already allows more "legal" immigration each year than the rest of the world combined. Our elected officials each took an oath to "uphold and defend" the Constitution and the laws written from it. The FIRE Coalition advocates removing the incentives that draw illegal aliens to our country. If they cannot find a job, or a place to rent, they will go home. Law enforcement are obligated by design, and by law to protect the law-abiding citizens of the United States. Citizens and businesses have an equal responsibility to help facilitate the "rule of law."

Illegal aliens need to go home to their native country. Any sort of amnesty for illegally entering the U.S. or for over-staying visas would be rewarding breaking the law. Each time the United States has exercised compassion by granting amnesty to the good and decent illegal alien, the flood of invaders has increased. Our elected officials need to remember who they represent, who elected them to office, and what "so help me God" meant. That oath is not just a ceremonial ritual, it is a sacred trust between the public official and the American people.

2) What is the purpose of the Operation Body Count project? What message are you trying to get out?
The FIRE Coalition's Operation Body Count has several purposes, but primarily it is to remove the plausible deniability that most legislators and public officials have in three areas: the magnitude of the number of deaths of American citizens caused by illegal aliens, to illustrate that something can and should be done to stop it, and to remind the people we elect that it is their responsibility to take action. Operation Body Count doesn't just focus on those Americans killed, but also on the most egregious offenders in public office who are aiding and abetting the on-going slaughter of American citizens at the hands of illegal aliens.

So much emphasis is placed on the plight of the "poor immigrant family," or on how sending illegal aliens home would be cruel. Operation Body Count is intended to help remind our elected officials of exactly whom they are supposed to be protecting first and foremost, and that would be the citizenry of the United States, NOT the illegal alien invaders. It gets back to that allegiance issue. Who are our public officials elected to represent? Illegal aliens, or American citizens? One would think that's a no-brainer, and yet, we have countless legislators who, instead of showing some character and integrity, are betraying their oath of office, and the blood of the American citizenry that has died because of their refusal to secure our borders, or to enforce our laws is on their hands.

The Operation Body Count victims' posters illustrate the failed policies and derelict decision-making of our government. America is engrossed in a global war on terror. We spend hundreds of billions of dollars abroad, supposedly to keep us safe from terror. I won't get into the debate as to whether or not we should be engaged in such a war, but considering Americans are being killed at a rate 8 times higher on American soil by illegal alien insurgents than are being killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, it's a big lie to suggest we can't afford to build the double-layer fence, or secure our ports of entry, including deploying troops along the border, which was authorized by Congress last fall. There is absolutely no truthful explanation except that Congress and the President are aiding and abetting the invasion and demise of the United States.

3) What effect do you think OBC has? Does it get the attention of people who might not have been paying much attention to this issue? If so, can you explain how you see that -- do you get emails or calls from folks who say they came across the site and were influenced by what they saw? (I'm specifically talking about OBC here). What do they tell you?
OBC has a chilling effect, especially the victims' yearbook posters. Looking into the faces of the law enforcement officers, women and children, and military that are no longer alive because of the invasion gives people pause. I receive calls, emails, and letters from across the nation where people have used the OBC posters in public events, to educate elected officials and law enforcement, and to generally re-focus the dialog where it belongs: on the American citizen, and the American family. One example I can share that illustrates the impact of OBC happened last fall. I'm sure you are aware of what transpired in Irving, Texas. Citizens there printed out the OBC posters and carried them to rallies there. The pro-illegal supporters didn't like them because they totally diffuse the diversion away from the dialog we should be having, which is what it is in the best interest of the American people, their children, and future. When national and local media covered the events in Irving, they completely edited out any and all footage in which the OBC posters were used. Apparently, the truth hurts, and the complicit media knew that their aiding and abetting the invasion would be harmed by looking into the faces of the American citizens who could no longer speak for themselves because they had died at the hands of an illegal alien.

3) On the site, you mention 9,000 Americans killed by illegal immigrants each year. What's the source of that figure?
Congressman Steve King, (Iowa) commissioned a GAO study in an attempt to find out how many Americans are being killed by illegal aliens, since there was no government tracking of illegal alien crime available. This official government study suggests that upwards of 25 Americans die each day at the hands of illegal aliens, primarily due to murder, drunken-driving, and negligence, all of which are preventable. Congressman Steve King spoke in detail about this report at the FIRE Coalition's Constitution Week Press Conference last September. The complete video is available at YouTube.com/firecoalition.

4) Do you ask victims' families for permission to list their names/stories/photos? Some people, of course, might not agree with the FIRE Coalition's positions on the issue of illegal immigration. Have you ever gotten complaints from families? Or thanks?
We do not ask for permission from victims' families, and it would be a stretch to suggest that those who oppose our positions include the families of victims. Were we to receive a request to remove a particular victim from OBC from the family, we certainly would. We have never received on complaint or such request. Numerous family members of victims have reached out to say "thank you." The FIRE Coalition's Operation Body Count champions the victims on behalf of those already killed by illegal aliens. Losing a family member due to crime or tragedy is hard to deal with regardless of the legal status of the perpetrator. OBC takes the message to our public officials in Congress, state legislatures, and local government in ways that do not require the victims to constantly revisit their loss.

5) Immigrant advocates say that using these crimes and their victims to send a message about illegal immigration serves to brand a whole group of people -- illegal immigrants, most of whom do not cause deaths -- as violent criminals. What do you respond?
What are "immigrant advocates?" If you mean legal immigrants, then you are referring to a group of people we want to assimilate into the American culture as quickly as possible. If you mean "illegal alien advocates," then you are referring to a group of people that are aiding and abetting the largest invasion in world history, which, by the way, is a felony. The problem cannot be categorized simply into legal and illegal subsets.

Keeping in mind that the United States already allows more legal immigration each year than the rest of the world combined, it is a misnomer that "immigrant rights" advocates are in reality advocating for legal immigrants. Disinformation about who they really represent is used to stir hatred and animosity, so that good-natured Americans will think immigration reform and law enforcement groups such as the FIRE Coalition simply hate foreigners. That couldn't be further from the truth.

The United States has a proven track-record of being the most generous and giving people the Earth has ever known. Just like "sparing the rod spoils the child," ignoring the rule of law, and encouraging or advocating rewarding bad behavior marginalizes and subverts our sovereignty, our culture, and our future as a nation. Many forces are at play to destroy the nation-state around the world, and to create a global government to go with the global economy rhetoric. Which nation-state stands in the way of creating a global government? The United States. Blurring our borders, balkanizing our people by increasing pandering to illegal alien invaders in their native tongues only serves to make "E Pluribus Unum," "From many, one," into "E Pluribus Nada" "From many, none."

Destroy the United States, and you can create a global government. That is what is really afoot, make no mistake. The "melting pot" that the United States embodies requires "melting" into our society, not encouraging breaking us up into social and cultural factions, unable to even communicate with one another. I would suggest that legal immigrants that are offended by FIRE Coalition efforts are being misled. They should direct their animosity where it belongs. If they feel they are being stereo-typed, then I would suggest they encourage the media, the public, and our public officials to use the proper nomenclature to describe whom they are speaking about.

Article IV, Section 4 of the United States Constitution guarantees the states protection against invasion.  It doesn't say we'll try, or to protect us if it's economically feasible, or popular. It states "guarantee." Words do mean something. The Constitution cannot be ignored. Those elected to uphold and defend it don't have a choice, but to do so. One would think they would be eager to do so, especially since they came to us, "we the people," and begged us to let them do so. "...so help me God," means something. Any public official who has taken that oath that knowingly ignores or subverts enforcement of our laws is guilty of treason.

Feel free to ask for any clarification to any of my answers to your questions and I'll be happy to respond.

Kick the Complacency Habit: Read the Bills for yourself!

by mrochek 6/2/2008 11:41:00 AM
I need to speak frankly about some very dangerous attitudes I continue to see exhibited by Americans today including, unfortunately, some of the same patriots involved in the fight against the illegal alien invasion.

The attitude I'm speaking of is complacency in the face of tasks which require some level of personal research and self-education. Let me share my thoughts on why I feel it is imperative that I address this issue with you now. First, a quick history lesson:

According to Thomas Jefferson's 1812 "Manual of Parliamentary Practice for the Use of the Senate of the United States" (Jefferson's Manual) it was the practice for both the House and Senate to conduct at least three full verbatim readings of each bill proposed.

Also according to Title 1, Section 106 of the United States Code, each bill must be made available in written form to each member of Congress before final passage.

For decades now, however, our government has departed from these practices, or at least found "effective" loopholes around them. In the case of the full verbatim readings by the clerks of each house, these practices have been abandoned altogether. In the case of the requirement for written copies to be delivered to members of Congress, both houses by concurrent resolution, have allowed for passage of a bill in the final six days of a session without the bill being in final form.

These dangerous departures from best practices have paved the way for many treasonous bills and amendments to weasel themselves through Congress in the past several decades. More importantly, I will submit to you that these departures make it easy for Joe and Jane Citizen to offer up the excuses that reading the bills would take too much time, and they are just too confusing.

Yes, just the way the process has been designed.

There are only two groups of people that are truly important in this process: 1) We the People, and 2) the people we elect.

If neither of these groups are reading the bills that the Washington lawyers and special interest groups are drafting, yet lending their support and votes to the same (sometimes sight unseen), does that not explain, in part, how we have arrived to this dangerous precipice we are hanging from?

Further exacerbating this disaster-in-the-making, "white knights in shining armor" have appeared in the last two or three decades to "save us." These knights have boldly proclaimed, "Let us take this extraordinary burden from you citizens. We'll read the bills and let you know which you should support...after all, we're on the same side of this fight"

Over the years, however, citizens have just become accustomed to getting spoon-fed the "right answers" on all of the bills, further separating us from the legislative process that was designed and intended for our active and individual involvement.

It was James Madison, author of the Constitution, who said, “It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man who knows what the law is today can guess what it will be tomorrow.”

Just in the past year, there have been two cases which highlight the need for me to reinforce the importance of taking seriously your personal responsibility to do your own research.

The first of which is the SAVE Act (H.R. 4088 & S. 2368). Many of you know the FIRE Coalition has taken a seemingly unpopular stance against the SAVE Act. Though the bill was touted as a tough enforcement-only bill, it amounts to another piece of feel-good legislation with a provision that gives an active legal defense to religious institutions for "enourag[ing] or induc[ing] an alien to come to or enter the United States…” Not only is this a bad idea, it's unconstitutional. You can read our analysis at http://www.operationbodycount.com/saveact2.pdf, but we encourage you to read the bills for yourselves.

The second bill that has more recently surfaced is H.R. 5515, the "New Employee Verification Act of 2008". This bill, while tough-sounding, actually has language that would nullify and pre-empt any local or state ordinances or statutes that are being enacted across the country and reserve the right to enforce anything having to do with immigration violations to the feds...and we know what a great job they're doing! We will likely be releasing a similar analysis of this bill in the days tocome, so stay tuned.

All of the preceding bills are being backed not only by the "white knights," but even some of our champions in Congress that we have come to trust based on their historical votes. This makes it even easier for Joe and Jane Citizen to throw their collective hats behind bills like these without a second thought...and feeling good about it.

The bottom line is this behavior and apathetic attitude has to stop. For sovereignty's sake, we must pick back up the mantle of responsibility for the direction our republic.

How do we fix this? It's really a very simple 2 point plan in the words of former First Lady Nancy Reagan:

1) "Reading is fundamental"--you have to read these bills yourself, and
2) "Just say No!"--Say "NO" to blindly supporting legislation

The FIRE Coalition will continue to lead by example. We will alert you to any "shenanigans" we see coming out of Washington, DC, and we'll give you our own independent analysis, but we'll expect you to read the legislation for yourself as well, and alert others to your findings.

Thank you for allowing me to address this with you today. We look forward to hearing any comments you may have at feedback@firecoalition.com.

Keep up the fight!
