San Diego Mexican Consulate to Issue Illegal Alien ID cards, aided by the Mormon Church

The Mexican Consulate in San Diego has announced they will be holding a matricula card (Mexican ID) event for over 600 mostly illegal aliens at the LDS Church at 1250 Borden Rd in San Marcos on June 14th, 8:30am � 4pm. The Consulate held a similar event at Palomar College in February and took in over $17,000 in cash from mostly illegal aliens buying the worthless ID card which is used in lieu of a driver�s license by the millions of Mexican illegal aliens in the U.S. The Mexican government issues these cards with nothing more than a Mexican birth certificate, which can be forged and easily obtained on the black market.

This event is clearly aiding and abetting illegal aliens to remain in the U.S. which is against Federal law and a felony crime! American citizens are outraged at this blatant flaunting of American Federal laws by foreign citizens and now the LDS church who is allowing the use of their property to commit these crimes.

Several citizens contacted Tom Owens, 801-240-7023, at LDS Public Relations office in Salt Lake City today and at first he denied that matricula cards for illegal aliens would be issued at tomorrow�s event. When we informed him that it has been widely reported that there were going to be matricula cards issued, he then said the LDS church fully supports the Mexican Consulate event and that the event was to take place in their parking lot only since cash transactions inside the church are forbidden.

The San Diego Minutemen condemn this arrogant collusion with the Mexican Government to aid and abet up to 600 Mexican illegal aliens tomorrow, 50 miles from the designated Consulate location. A large protest by concerned American citizens is planned on the public sidewalk in front of the church beginning at 8:00 am.

We call on the U.S. Congress to put a stop to the practice of mobile Mexican Consulates to aid and abet illegal aliens in our communities.

GAO Reports illegal U.S. Entry not difficult

Our investigators identified numerous border security vulnerabilities, both at ports of entry and at unmanned and unmonitored land border locations between the ports of entry. In testing ports of entry, undercover investigators carried counterfeit drivers� licenses, birth certificates, employee identification cards, and other documents, presented themselves at ports of entry and sought admittance to the United States dozens of times. They arrived in rental cars, on foot, by boat, and by airplane. They attempted to enter in four states on the northern border (Washington, New York, Michigan, and Idaho), three states on the southern border (California, Arizona, and Texas), and two other states requiring international air travel (Florida and Virginia). In nearly every case, government inspectors accepted oral assertions and counterfeit identification provided by our investigators as proof of U.S. citizenship and allowed them to enter the country. In total, undercover investigators made 42 crossings with a 93 percent success rate.3 On several occasions, while entering by foot from Mexico and by boat from Canada, investigators were not even asked to show identification. For example, at one border crossing in Texas in 2006, an undercover investigator attempted to show a CBP officer his counterfeit Virginia driver�s license, but the officer said, �That�s fine, you can go� without looking at it. As a result of these covert tests, we concluded that terrorists or other criminals could use counterfeit identification to pass freely through most of the tested ports of entry with little chance of being detected.

In our most recent work, we shifted our focus from ports of entry and primarily performed limited security assessments of unmanned and unmonitored areas between ports of entry. The names of the states we visited for this limited security assessment have been withheld at the request of CBP. In four states along the U.S.�Canada border, we found state roads that were very close to the border that CBP did not appear to monitor. In three states, the proximity of the road to the border allowed investigators to cross undetected, successfully simulating the cross-border movement of radioactive materials or other contraband into the United States from Canada. For example, in one apparently unmanned, unmonitored area on the northern border, the U.S. Border Patrol was alerted to our activities through the tip of an alert citizen. However, the responding U.S. Border Patrol agents were not able to locate the investigators and their simulated contraband. Also on the northern border, investigators located several ports of entry in one state on the northern border that had posted daytime hours and were unmanned overnight. Investigators observed that surveillance equipment was in operation, but that the only preventive measure to stop an individual from crossing the border into the United States was a barrier across the road that could be driven around. We also identified potential security vulnerabilities on federally managed lands adjacent to the U.S.�Mexico border. We concluded that CBP faces significant challenges on the northern border, and that a determined cross-border violator would likely be able to bring radioactive materials or other contraband undetected into the United States by crossing the U.S.�Canada border at any of the assessed locations. We held corrective action briefings with CBP in 2006 and 2007 to discuss the results of our prior work. CBP generally agreed with our August 2006 findings and acknowledged that its officers are not able to identify all forms of counterfeit identification presented at land border crossings. In addition, in response to our August 2006 work, CBP officials stated that they supported the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative4 and were working to implement it. This initiative has several parts, the most recent of which went into effect on January 31, 2008. In response to our September 2007 report, CBP indicated that resource restrictions prevent U.S. Border Patrol agents from investigating all instances of suspicious activity. For example, in the September 2007 hearing on border security before your Committee, a CBP official stated that roughly 250 U.S. Border Patrol agents were patrolling the U.S.�Canada border at any given time. This represents a quarter of all agents reportedly assigned to patrol the northern border during that period because the agents work in shifts, and may not be on duty due to sick leave or vacation time. CBP stated that the northern border presents more of a challenge than the southern border for several reasons, including the wide expanse of the border and the existence of many antiquated ports of entry.

Caltrans Headquarters Suspends Adopt-a-Highway Program to Squash Free Speech!

In a stunning and unprecedented move yesterday, Caltrans Director Will Kempton suspended the entire state-wide Adopt-a-Highway program after the San Diego Minutemen recently applied for a newly available freeway site on I-5 near Camp Pendleton. Copies of the SDMM original application and letter dated June 17th are attached.

The San Diego Minutemen properly applied for the new site on May 15th by faxing an application to hold the site until a signed application was recieved at Caltrans on May 19th.

Caltrans tried to give the site to Jobing.com on May 17th in violation of their written regulations, apparently to prevent us from getting that site. When the local San Diego Director, Pedro Orso-Delgado was confronted with the evidence of this scheme on June 17th, Caltrans decided to suspend the whole program, including two pending applications from us, until they can rewrite the rules for participating.

Assemblywoman Lori Saldana told the North County Times and the AP on May 9th, that she was going to have Caltrans rewrite their criteria to prevent ""groups like ours"" from participating. Saldana is apparently openly saying she rejects peaceful, law-abiding, pro-America, pro-rule-of-law, political activist groups from participating in volunteer community service activities in the state of California. She also openly supports radical illegal alien and open borders activists and groups, including Enrique Morones who regularly falsely accuses the Minutemen of heinious crimes including murdering Mexican citizens.

""This is the most Un-American thing I have ever heard of"", said Francisca Galvan, SDMM's Director of Highway Operations. ""I immigrated from Mexico legally several years ago to escape government corruption like this. I am appaled that some of our elected state leaders are representing open borders and lawlessness, and are desicrating the U.S. Constituition with these illegal and outrageous tactics which are clearly discrimintory based on political veiwpoint"".

Federal Judge Willaim Hayes in San Diego is considering SDMM's request for a preliminary injunction on their original highway adoption site near the San Clemente Checkpoint. The hearing was May 9th and his ruling is expected soon.

The San Diego Minutemen calls on Governor Schwarzenegger to intervene and end these illegal political antics by members of the California Latino Caucus to discriminate against American citizens.

Appeals court rejects challenge to Ariz. employer sanctions law

A federal appeals court today rejected challenges to Arizona's 8-month-old employer sanctions law. Judges of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the state law which allows judges to suspend or revoke the licenses of companies that knowingly hire undocumented workers does not run afoul of federal laws. The three-judge panel said while federal law specfically reserves the right to impose criminal and civil punishments to the federal government, that law does allow states to revoke licenses. The court also turned aside arguments that it is illegal for the state to require employers to check the immigration status of new workers through the federal government's E-Verify system. But the judges pointed out that no employer has been charged with breaking the law that took effect Jan. 1. And they said while the law on its face is valid, that does not mean that a company which eventually faces penalties under the statute could not bring a new claim contesting that its rights were violated.

Immigration, National Security, and the Rule of Law

Immigration policy is a national security issue, for which we have one test: Does it serve the national interest? By that standard, Republicans know America can have a strong immigration system without sacrificing the rule of law.

Enforcing the Rule of Law at the Border and Throughout the Nation

Border security is essential to national security. In an age of terrorism, drug cartels, and criminal gangs, allowing millions of unidentified persons to enter and remain in this country poses grave risks to the sovereignty of the United States and the security of its people. We simply must be able to track who is entering and leaving our country.

Our determination to uphold the rule of law begins with more effective enforcement, giving our agents the tools and resources they need to protect our sovereignty, completing the border fence quickly and securing the borders, and employing complementary strategies to secure our ports of entry.

Experience shows that enforcement of existing laws is effective in reducing and reversing illegal immigration. Our commitment to the rule of law means smarter enforcement at the workplace, against illegal workers and lawbreaking employers alike, along with those who practice identity theft and traffic in fraudulent documents. As long as jobs are available in the United States, economic incentives to enter illegally will persist.

But we must empower employers so they can know with confidence that those they hire are permitted to work. That means that the Everify system�which is an internet-based system that verifies the employment authorization and identity of employees�must be reauthorized. A phased-in requirement that employers use the E-Verify system must be enacted.

The rule of law means guaranteeing to law enforcement the tools and coordination to deport criminal aliens without delay � and correcting court decisions that have made deportation so difficult.

It means enforcing the law against those who overstay their visas, rather than letting millions flout the generosity that gave them temporary entry.

It means imposing maximum penalties on those who smuggle illegal aliens into the U.S., both for their lawbreaking and for their cruel exploitation.

It means requiring cooperation among federal, state and local law enforcement and real consequences, including the denial of federal funds, for self-described sanctuary cities, which stand in open defiance of the federal and state statutes that expressly prohibit such sanctuary policies, and which endanger the lives of U.S. citizens.

It does not mean driver�s licenses for illegal aliens, nor does it mean that states should be allowed to flout the federal law barring them from giving in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens, nor does it mean that illegal aliens should receive social security benefits, or other public benefits, except as provided by federal law.

We oppose amnesty. The rule of law suffers if government policies encourage or reward illegal activity. The American people�s rejection of en masse legalizations is especially appropriate given the federal government�s past failures to enforce the law.

Embracing Immigrant Communities

Today�s immigrants are walking in the steps of most other Americans� ancestors, seeking the American dream and contributing culturally and economically to our nation. We celebrate the industry and love of liberty of these fellow Americans.

Both government and the private sector must do more to foster legally present immigrants� integration into American life to advance respect for the rule of law and a common American identity. It is a national disgrace that the first experience most new Americans have is with a dysfunctional immigration bureaucracy defined by delay and confusion; we will no longer tolerate those failures.

In our multiethnic nation, everyone � immigrants and native-born alike � must embrace our core values of liberty, equality, meritocracy, and respect for human dignity and the rights of women.

One sign of our unity is our English language. For newcomers, it has always been the fastest route to prosperity in America. English empowers. We support English as the official language in our nation, while welcoming the ethnic diversity in the United States and the territories, including language.

Immigrants should be encouraged to learn English. English is the accepted language of business, commerce, and legal proceedings, and it is essential as a unifying cultural force. It is also important, as part of cultural integration, that our schools provide better education in U.S. history and civics for all children, thereby fostering a commitment to our national motto, E Pluribus Unum.

We are grateful to the thousands of new immigrants, many of them not yet citizens, who are serving in the Armed Forces. Their patriotism is inspiring; it should remind the institutions of civil society of the need to embrace newcomers, assist their journey to full citizenship, and help their communities avoid patterns of isolation.

Welcoming Refugees

Our country continues to accept refugees from troubled lands all over the world. In some cases, these are people who stood with America in dangerous times, and they have first call on our hospitality.

We oppose, however, the granting of refugee status on the basis of lifestyle or other non-political factors.

"Our investigators identified numerous border security vulnerabilities, both at ports of entry and at unmanned and unmonitored land border locations between the ports of entry. In testing ports of entry, undercover investigators carried counterfeit drivers' licenses, birth certificates, employee identification cards, and other documents, presented themselves at ports of entry and sought admittance to the United States dozens of times. They arrived in rental cars, on foot, by boat, and by airplane. They attempted to enter in four states on the northern border (Washington, New York, Michigan, and Idaho), three states on the southern border (California, Arizona, and Texas), and two other states requiring international air travel (Florida and Virginia). In nearly every case, government inspectors accepted oral assertions and counterfeit identification provided by our investigators as proof of U.S. citizenship and allowed them to enter the country. In total, undercover investigators made 42 crossings with a 93 percent success rate.3 On several occasions, while entering by foot from Mexico and by b, but the officer saidoat from Canada, investigators were not even asked to show identification. For example, at one border crossing in Texas in 2006, an undercover investigator attempted to show a CBP officer his counterfeit Virginia driver's license.

In our most recent work, we shifted our focus from ports of entry and primarily performed limited security assessments of unmanned and unmonitored areas between ports of entry. The names of the states we visited for this limited security assessment have been withheld at the request of CBP. In four states along the U.S.�Canada border, we found state roads that were very close to the border that CBP did not appear to monitor. In three states, the proximity of the road to the border allowed investigators to cross undetected, successfully simulating the cross-border movement of radioactive materials or other contraband into the United States from Canada. For example, in one apparently unmanned, unmonitored area on the northern border, the U.S. Border Patrol was alerted to our activities through the tip of an alert citizen. However, the responding U.S. Border Patrol agents were not able to locate the investigators and their simulated contraband. Also on the northern border, investigators located several ports of entry in one state on the northern border that had posted daytime hours and were unmanned overnight. Investigators observed that surveillance equipment was in operation, but that the only preventive measure to stop an individual from crossing the border into the United States was a barrier across the road that could be driven around. We also identified potential security vulnerabilities on federally managed lands adjacent to the U.S.�Mexico border. We concluded that CBP faces significant challenges on the northern border and that a determined cross-border violator would likely be able to bring radioactive materials or other contraband undetected into the United States by crossing the U.S.�Canada border at any of the assessed locations. We held corrective action briefings with CBP in 2006 and 2007 to discuss the results of our prior work. CBP generally agreed with our August 2006 findings and acknowledged that its officers are not able to identify all forms of counterfeit identification presented at land border crossings. California's In-State Tuition Policy for Illegal Aliens Is Unconstitutional, Rules State Appeals Court

Precedent Setting Ruling May Be Used to Challenge Many State Benefits for Illegal Aliens, Says Immigration Reform Law Institute WASHINGTON, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A three judge panel of the California Court of Appeals unanimously ruled Monday that a California law intended to permit illegal aliens to attend public colleges and universities at in-state tuition rates is unconstitutional because it conflicts with federal law, and violates both the equal protection clause and privileges and immunity clause of the constitution. Ruling in the case of Martinez et al. v. Regents of the University of California, brought by the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) on behalf of some 80,000 nonresident American students who were denied in-state tuition benefits, the Appeals Court agreed that California policy violates expressed provisions of both the Immigration Act and the Welfare Reform Act of 1996. The 1996 Immigration Act states that ""an alien who is not lawfully present in the United States shall not be eligible on the basis of residence within a State...for any postsecondary education benefit unless a citizen or national of the United States is eligible for such a benefit..."" In their ruling, the judges concluded that a California law that recognizes illegal aliens as residents for the purpose of attending public colleges and universities at taxpayer subsidized tuition rates, ""does, and was intended to, benefit illegal aliens"" - a benefit that the state fails to provide to U.S. citizens from other states. The court also granted injunctive relief to nonresident American students, meaning that they must be permitted to pay in-state tuition. Students who have already paid out-of-state tuition rates must be reimbursed. The California Appeals Court ruling is the first to decide a challenge to in-state tuition policies on the merits. A challenge in federal court to a similar policy in Kansas, also brought by IRLI, was dismissed when the judge denied standing to the plaintiffs. ""We believe that Monday's ruling by the California Court of Appeals is unambiguous and precedent setting,"" stated Michael Hethmon, general counsel for IRLI. ""In their ruling, the judges indicated that federal law preempts not only California's in-state tuition law, but all such laws across the country."" Currently, nine other states offer in-state tuition benefits to illegal aliens. Monday's ruling will also affect many other state and local benefits currently being offered to illegal aliens. ""The decision also makes it clear that federal law preempts many benefits that are being dispensed to illegal aliens that are expressly prohibited under the Welfare Reform Act,"" said Kris Kobach, senior counsel to IRLI. ""In the court's opinion, citizens have the right to go to court and sue to prevent illegal aliens from benefiting from a whole range of government programs."" ""Law-abiding citizens and taxpayers were the real winners in this decision. This opinion strikes a blow for the rule of law, commonsense, and protection of public resources, and the legal precedence it sets will be felt all across the nation,"" Hethmon concluded. In-state tuition for Illegal Aliens fails in Colorado Senate

Bravo to the Colorado Senate for voting down Senator Romer's ""Illegal Alien Rewards Bill"" S-170.

Opponents of the bill pointed out that giving in-state tuition to illegals violated Federal law, and several parts of the Constitution each of them swore an oath to.

FIRE Coalition Colorado Director Greg Williams, and retired ICE Agent John Sampson were at the forefront of educating Colorado Legislators about the folly of this bill.

Quoting from the Denver Post, ""Sen. Bill Cadman, R-Colorado Springs, said that granting students who are illegal immigrants in-state tuition was like saying ""if their parents robbed a bank, their kids could keep the money.""

The FIRE Coalition could not more strongly agree with Senator Cadman. Read the Denver Post article, and then ask Attorney General Suthers, Senator Romer, and the other supporters of this bill what part of their oath of office authorizes them to propose legislation based on ""whim"" instead of the Colorado and U.S. Constitutions.

Ask Colorado Attorney General when he is planning to file charges, or to request the U.S. Attorney file charges against Senator Romer for conspiring with opponents of the Constitution, and for conspiring and supporting insurrection against our sovereignty and Constitution.

The 14th Amendment, Section 3 states quite plainly that by his own actions, Senator Romer is NOT eligible to ever hold public office again.

Today may have been a victory for the ""rule of laws based on the Constitution,"" but Senator Romer says he will be back with this treasonous bill next year.

When will the legal citizenry of Colorado demand traitors be charged for treason against their oath? We are doomed to repeat this battle again and again as long as we allow scoundrels and scalawags to hold public office.

The Constitution is Senator Romer's ""employee handbook,"" not the latest special interest report, or pandering populist opinion.

It is disgraceful and insulting for proponents of giving in-state tuition to illegal alien foreign nationals in direct defiance of federal law and the Constitution to make comparisons to the civil rights battle and the Holocaust.

God bless those Senators who did the right thing today, and kept their oath, and be very wary of those that shrugged off that responsibility.

Some may see this as an issue that doesn't warrant any follow-up, but consider this. If these elected officials were willing to boldly violate federal law, and violate Article IV, Section 4, the 14th Amendment, Sections 3 and 4 via S-170, which of your Bill of Rights will they ignore and undermine next time special interest groups bring them 30 pieces of silver?

VIRGIL GOODE AT CHAPEL HILL LOCATION CHANGE

FIRE Coalition National Director Jeff Lewis has been in almost daily contact with the UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Public Safety since last Tuesday's event with Congressman Tancredo was disrupted and eventually canceled.

Among those discussions was the suggestion to move the location to a more secure setting, that would allow Congressman Goode's speaking engagement to the UNC Youth for Western Civilization student group to be ""heard"" without the disruptive antics of protesters.

We originally reported this event would take place in Gardner Hall, but are pleased to announce it has been moved to the Great Hall in the Student Union on South Road, just around the corner from Bingham Hall.

The federal government announced its investigation into another company reported 4 years ago on WeHireAliens.com.

A federal investigation found that 1,600 of the 4,500 employees at American Apparel's Los Angeles factories got their jobs using ""suspect and not valid"" eligibility documentation, Reuters reported.

Newly-formed House Sovereignty Caucus off to a good start

In the fall of 2007 and spring of 2008 members and partners of the FIRE Coalition met with Members of Congress about forming a United States Sovereignty Caucus.

Although initially set to launch in June, 2008, for a variety of reasons the launch was delayed, and due to election results, (in both parties), some of the key players changed, but we are very pleased to see the idea become a reality!

FIRE Coalition leadership, and its partner's leadership that participated in the effort felt strongly that all 435 Members of the House should be members of a 'sovereignty caucus.' After all, isn't preserving the Union one of the primary jobs of any Congressman or Senator?

One would think there would be no need for such a creature, and yet, our Constitution and sovereignty are being marginalized or trampled on by elected officials on a daily basis. If ever there was a time or need for a sovereignty caucus, it is NOW!

With anti-American, globalist Cabinet nominations and insane treaties coming before the Senate with regularity now, we must have Representatives in Washington who will actually ""walk the walk"" to uphold the Constitution, and protect our sovereignty as a nation.

Any government official or Member of Congress that suggests the U.N. or some other global cabal knows better what America needs isn't just drinking the koolaid, they are distributing it in direct conflict with their oath.

Hats off to Congressmen Garrett, Lamborn, and McCotter, and the 25 new Sovereignty Caucus members. If your Congressman is NOT a member, you should ask him or her why? If they aren't willing to stand up for the U.S. Constitution and the sovereignty of the United States, why did you send them to Washington?

Harold Koh and the Law of the Sea (LOST) Treaty are but two of many threats to our sovereignty currently being considered in Congress. ""Foreign affairs"" shouldn't become domestic. A free people is NEVER ruled from afar... never!

Encourage your Representatives to be statesmen and not simply politicians. Encourage your ""employee"" in Congress to join the House Sovereignty Caucus today!

Obama Administration Throws 2nd & 10th Amendments Out The Window!

Much like Marie-Antoinette, wife of Louis XVI, the Obama Administration has told Montana and Tennessee they have no rights; in essence, ""Let them eat cake.""

The ATF has issued letters to Montana and Tennessee telling them the laws they each passed governing firearms manufactured for sale within their sovereign state borders are moot.

The federal government seems to believe that federal law trumps states' rights, individual rights, and the Constitution, the very contract between the sovereign states to LIMIT the abuses of a federal government!

The Obama Administration seems to believe the ""Interstate Commerce Clause"" trumps the 2nd and 10th Amendments.

In case you don't have an Ivy League law degree, worry not, the Bill of Rights was written in simple, plain English.

Any honest lawyer wouldn't even remotely try to twist the meaning of simple English into some perverted lawyer-speak to justify an un-Constitutional power grab by the federal government.

If you continue to sit on your butts and allow this to happen, then you can ""bank"" on this ""stimulating"" the Obama Administration into coming after the rest of your God-given rights, such as the freedom of speech guaranteed by the 1st Amendment, or your protections against unreasonable search and seizure, as guaranteed in the 4th Amendment, or perhaps your right to not be forced to testify against yourself, as guaranteed by the 5th Amendment.

Some of this stuff started long before Obama came into office. George Bush was no different. Neither of these usurpers give a crap about individual rights, or the Constitution.

The Founding Fathers warned us about giving up a little liberty for a little security. They warned us that if we did that, we would end up with, and deserve NEITHER!

The progressive socialists running the U.S. Senate, aka the Democrat Party are poised to confirm a judge to the Supreme Court that summarily rejected the pleas of citizens who were being directly discriminated against, and who refused to acknowledge under oath that the 2nd Amendment guarantees you and I the ""fundamental right"" to protect ourselves, even in our own homes.

There's an old adage out there that says ""When the 1st Amendment fails, use the 2nd."" What happens when you have NO 2nd Amendment rights?

What happens when the 1st Amendment is trampled, AND you have NO 2nd Amendment rights?

Benjamin Franklin warned us with these words over 200 years ago: ""A great empire, like a great cake, is most easily diminished at the edges.""

The federal government has been nibbling away at the Constitution for 100 years. Now, under the Obama Administration, they are gorging themselves on OUR RIGHTS, and when states and citizens complain, Congress and the rogue Obama Administration say, ""Stop nibbling. Let them eat cake.""
