The Threat of Non-Citizen Voting There is significant evidence of non-citizen voting. The 2000 presidential election and many local elections have been decided within the margin of the number of non-citizens illegally registered to vote.

The Underground Labor Force is Rising to the Surface Report by Bear Stearns Asset Management, January 3, 2005 [Describes true numbers of illegal immigrants in the U.S., their saturation in the workplace, and some consequences thereof.]

Working on the Margins: Immigrant Day Labor Characteristics and Prospects for Employment Report by Prof. Abel Valenzuela, Jr., UCLA Dept. of Urban Planning, February 25, 2000 [Among other things, this study demonstrates that the vast majority of day laborers are in the United States illegally.]

The Size and Characteristics of the Unauthorized Migrant Population in the U.S. Report by Jeffrey S. Passel, Pew Hispanic Center, March 7, 2006 [This report provides useful data, such as estimates on how long the 'unauthorized' population (a politically-correct term for illegal immigrants) has been in the U.S., growth rate of this illegal population, percentage of the 'foreign-born population' that is illegal, and the extent of illegal labor in various occupations.] [FIRE Coalition recommends also reviewing the "Underground Labor Force" study by Bear Stearns above. Many of the numbers given by Pew Hispanic Center are unrealistically low, such as an estimate of a total illegal population of 12 million and 4.9% of the workforce being illegal. The 20 million illegal population figure and 8% illegal workforce figures, as given by Bear Stearns, are far more realistic. Nevertheless, the Pew study figures show an unacceptably high level of illegal immigration in the U.S. and illegal labor in our civilian workforce.]

Mexican-Born Persons in the US Civilian Labor Force Report by the Migration Policy Institute, November 2006 [Although this report makes no attempt to distinguish between those in the U.S. legally vs. illegally, it does provide interesting data on percentages of Mexican nationals in the U.S. and in the U.S. workforce, remittances (dollars) sent back to Mexico, job industries such persons work in, and demographic characteristics.]

The 2006 Swift Raids: Assessing the Impact of Immigration On December 12, 2006, about 1,300 illegal immigrants working at six meat processing plants owned by Swift & Co. were arrested in the largest immigration enforcement action in U.S. history. Other illegal workers, fearful of future raids, stopped reporting to work. Additionally, in the months prior to the raids, new employee screening by Swift led to the loss of about 400 illegal workers. The plants are located in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Texas, Colorado, and Utah. This report examines the raids and their aftermath.

U.S. Border Patrol Survey Analysis Report by Judicial Watch, June 28, 2005 [Report detailing the U.S. Government's polling of apprehended illegal immigrants on the Southern Border in January, 2004. Using survey information obtained under the Federal Freedom of Information Act, Judicial Watch discusses survey data indicating that President Bush's January 7, 2004 announcement of a proposed 'temporary guest worker' plan actually lured greater numbers of persons to illegally cross the U.S. border in hopes they may qualify for amnesty and to petition for family members to be able to join them in the U.S.]

The principal of the Academia Semillas del Pueblo school is a outspoken Mexican revolutionary radical who believes the American Southwest belongs to Mexico, adamantly opposes assimilation for Mexican immigrants, and advocates a racist, separatist agenda.]

The Dark Side of Illegal Immigration: Nearly One Million Sex Crimes Committed by Illegal Immigrants in the United States Report by the Violent Crimes Institute, 2006 [An in-depth study of illegal immigrants charged with sex crimes and murder in the United States. Using a conservative figure from government records showing sex offenders comprise 2% of illegals apprehended, and an estimate of 12 million total illegal immigrants in the country, the study estimates there are about 240,000 immigrant sex offenders in the U.S. Further, based on analysis of 1500 cases, each sex offender averaged 4 victims each. Applied to the 240,000 immigrant sex offender figure, there are an estimated 960,000 victims of illegal immigrant sex offenders in the U.S.]
