FIRE Coalition Statement of Principles
The FIRE Coalition and WeHireAliens.com (hereinafter “FIRE Coalition”) staff and volunteers should be reasonably courteous to everyone they come into contact with. Above all else, we do not tolerate any discrimination or prejudice based on race, religion or national ethnicity. This principle against prejudice and discrimination should be defined broadly. While we may hold conflicting views, our goal is to lay aside differences with all those supporting our views and to educate those with opposing views.
FIRE Coalition events are always peaceful, and participants are expected to follow all applicable federal, state and local laws. If we are asking our government to enforce the rule of law, we must abide by the law as well.
FIRE Coalition event participants may come across agitators with opposing views who will taunt and insult them in an attempt to draw people into useless arguments and even violence. We do not engage in violence, but always reserve the right to self-defense. We use our best judgments in these situations, but as a general rule we do not respond in kind. We stay focused on remaining positive, responsible, and getting our message out to the American public and the media.
Further, we understand there is a difference between the illegal aliens themselves, and the self-appointed radical activists that claim to speak for them. We treat the illegal aliens with the same respect we would ask others to give us. That in no way diminishes our resolve, as law abiding citizens, to see our immigration laws fully enforced, including repatriation of those here illegally back to their countries of origin. They must abide by the law, just like everyone else. We focus on corrupt governments, public officials, taxes, national sovereignty, terrorism, public and environmental resources, etc., without overly focusing the debate on the individual illegal aliens. We acknowledge that it is American politicians that are ultimately responsible for allowing the massive illegal alien invasion in the United States.
Participants at FIRE Coalition events are to conduct themselves with due respect for public morals at all times, and not to engage in any behavior that would reflect negatively or poorly upon our group, its members or its partners.
Finally, the FIRE Coalition paradigm is to empower our members and coalition partners in the struggle against illegal immigration. We respect the ideas and creativity of our members, and everyone has a place to shape our coalition and its future direction. Whenever possible, we seek out coalitions with other responsible immigration reform groups. We are fighting for the future of our great nation, thus there is no place for turf battles or ego-driven conflicts with other responsible groups or individuals whom share our struggle. This fight is not about name recognition; it’s first and foremost about America and the welfare of its citizens.
